LaVar Ball made his second appearance on CNN last night, this time to discuss his decision to pull LiAngelo out of UCLA.
During an interview on "New Day" with Chris Cuomo the Big Baller explained that he was not happy with LiAngelo's indefinite suspension from the team stemming from his shoplifting arrest in China.
LaVar described the suspension as "ridiculous" and told ESPN's Jeff Goodman that now the plan is to prepare LiAngelo for the NBA Draft, which he didn't feel the UCLA Bruins were capable of.
"That's one of the main reasons he went to UCLA is to play basketball. That's his passion," LaVar said. "And for them to prolong this and go on and on, it's ridiculous to me."
"I'm going to make him way better for the draft than UCLA ever could have," Ball said, per ESPN's Jeff Goodman. "He's not transferring to another school. The plan is now to get Gelo ready for the NBA draft."
"I'm going to make him way better for the draft than UCLA ever could have," he said.
LaVar may believe he's doing LiAngelo a favor by pulling him out of UCLA, but ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski notes that one NBA GM said LiAngelo Ball isn't even on any of their scouting lists, including the extended lists.
