Lupe Fiasco admits he is fearful for the image Chief Keef portrays for Chicago youth.

Lupe Fiasco is open about his distaste for other rapper’s music again, and this time it’s a fellow Chicago rapper.  Previously, he has remained quiet about his distaste for another Chi-Town emcee’s “trigger happy” lyrics, but in a recent interview Lupe opened up on how he feels Chief Keef’s lyrics are detrimental to the youth of Chicago, which is already plagued by a high murder rate.

In his interview with Baltimore 92Q Jams, posted online, Lupe said he is fearful for the message Chief Keef is delivering to his young listeners, “Chief Keef scares me. Not him specifically, but just the culture that he represents.”   He feels Keef is representative of a lot of the “gangsters” in Chicago committing violent crimes, “When you drive through Chicago…The hoodlums, the gangsters, and the ones you see killing each other. And the murder rate in Chicago is skyrocketing and you see who’s doing it and perpetrating it, they all look like Chief Keef.”

Explaining further, Lupe seemed worried about the violence spreading to other cities.  His qualms are not so much with the rapper Chief Keef, but with violent teenagers who have the same “look” and attitude as Keef.  “When it comes to the point that you know that the kids who are doing the killings, and they’re kids 13 to 19-years-old, and you can replicate that in New Orleans, you can replicate that in Oakland. All the kids look the same,” Lupe said in the interview

Coninuing, Lupe voiced his frustration at not being able to send the youth a positive message, “But to know that those are the kids doing the killing and you take one of those kids and you celebrate that…When you’re at high schools speaking to students, telling ‘em how to survive the summer and you turn on the radio and you hear that? You like, ‘Aw nah.’”

Food and Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt 1 drops September 25th, and don’t expect this to be the last bit of controversy we hear from the Chicago emcee in the coming weeks.
