With all eyes on Kendrick Lamar in anticipation of his good kid, m.A.A.d city LP, it appears he may be poised to be the new king of the West coast. After hinting at it, K.Dot confirms, along with The King of the South, T.I., that the two have collaborated on a record.
Both artists had recent interviews with Power 106's Yesi Ortiz, and when T.I. was discussing Westcoast artists he's feeling these days, Kendrick Lamar's name came up. When asked about working with artists Tip said he does not like to force a collabo, "if the song is right, I never say I wanna collaborate with an artist specifically, it's always about the music." Then when asked point blank if he and Kendrick have a collaboration coming out, Tip just slyly responded, "we working on it, we workin on it..."
Kendrick Lamar also stopped by Power 106, and was asked about working with T.I., and he revealed that the record has already been recorded, and it will be T.I.'s track with him as a feature, "it's already done, and it's huge," describing the track as, "very familiar, very huge...it's a T.I. record too, it's not really mine's." As far as release date, the two still have to iron out the business details before fans can hear it, "I don't know, we gotta get the business side handled."
