For the third time this season, Kevin Durant has managed to get himself tossed before the game has ended. On Monday night, the Warriors were down in New Orleans to take on the Pelicans, when Durant & Pelicans’ PF Demarcus Cousins got into an on-court altercation, resulting in a double ejection for both players.
Boogie and KD had been jawing back and forth at one another all night long. But things reached a boiling point in the fourth quarter when Cousins nearly head butted Durant to get things really started.
Then at the next dead ball, Durant had words for Cousins. The officials apparently had enough of their back-and-forth and decided to eject both of them. However, Boogie couldn’t believe it, and decided to go at Durant one last time before exiting the court, this time he was hella serious, and looking like he wanted to go playground on his ass.
It's possible Durant and Cousins could be assessed $25,000 fines for failing to leave the court in a timely manner, but we’ll have to wait and see what the league chooses to do. For anyone keeping count, this is the second time in three days that Durant has been ejected. He was tossed from Friday’s win over the Magic for arguing a call.
In addition to these two getting ejected, Warriors point guard, Steph Curry, also left the game with a serious ankle sprain. He was able to jog off under his own power, but was spotted leaving the building after the game on crutches (probably for precautionary reasons though).
