These days, Azealia Banks may be more known for her controversies than she is for her music. It's a shame really, as Banks is actually quite talented; unfortunately, label woes and conflicts have led to a limited catalog from the young rapper slash actor. However, today, Azealia has decided to gift us with a holiday song she has been working on for a minute, the synth-heavy "Colors Don't Change." She announced the track on Instagram, writing "I will re-release this on vinyl fully mixed and mastered next christmas. It’s a work in progress as a part of a full holiday project I’ve been working on. This song has been in my vault for so long I’m just happy to get it off my chest!! Happy holiday KUNTS."
While Banks is most definitely able to go in when called upon, "Colors Don't Change" finds her exploring more of an experimental direction. Still, it's a cool track, even if you might be craving some of those "212" style bars. If you're a fan of Banks, it's good to see her happy, healthy and productive.
