As festival season slowly comes to an end, there's less than a handful left to attend. It's essentially a formal goodbye to the summer for a lot of people. However, the good folks behind Governors Ball are back with the second edition of the "Meadows Music And Arts Festival." Today marks the first day of the three day festival which ends on Sunday evening. The Queens based festival booked a slew of incredible artists for this year's edition. The festival has a diverse group of performers over the course of the weekend for any live music enthusiast. Tonight's line-up holds some of hip hop's heavyweights including the headliner, Jay-Z. Along with HOV expect performances from Run The Jewels, Migos, 21 Savage, Blood Orange, Joey Bada$$ and many others.
If you're not attending the festival this weekend, you better be sure to get your TIDAL subscription. While tonight's line up is pretty lit, it only gets better. Tomorrow has a line up of headliner, Gorillaz alongside Future, Erykah Badu as well as LL Cool J, M.I.A, Tory Lanez, Flatbush Zombies, A-Trak, De La Soul, Big Boi & BADBADNOTGOOD. Sunday's line up seems less hip hop oriented but the acts that are scheduled are well worth the attendance. Nas, Action Bronson, Ghostface Killah and Kamaiyah will be taking the stage on Sunday along with the night's headliner, Red Hot Chili Peppers to close out the festival.
This year's edition has expanded since it's inception in 2016. Last year, the festival was held over the course of the first Saturday and Sunday of October but was still filled with a pretty intense line-up. Kanye West, Chance the Rapper, J. Cole, Bryson Tiller, Pusha T, Mac Miller and many more took over Queens for the inaugural edition. It's definitely looking like it'll be expanding over the course of the upcoming years. With a promising line-up last year and this year, the organizers might have a difficult time trying to top it.
