Let's celebrate love.
To celebrate Valentine's Day, and love in general, we rounded up some of Hip-Hop's hottest couples who are redefining #couplegoals. After all, nothing quite tests a relationship like the stresses of fame and fortune.
These lucky couples have not only found love, but found someone to build their respective empires with. Many have endured rumours, infidelity, infertility, and even prison sentences all in front of the public eye and still managed to stay in love despite that.
Through their music and social media these couples have allowed fans to follow their journey of love. Whether it's sharing PDA-filled snaps on Instagram, or leaving rauncy comments under their boo's pictures *ahem, Jhene Aiko*, we love that they allow us to live vicariously through them. Because, it's no secret that these couples set the bar high.
We have no doubt they will be going all out for their significant other this Valentine's Day. Whether it is hundreds of roses, giants teddy bears, or entire orchestras in the front lobby of their homes, hip-hop couples never disappoint when it comes to expressing their love in the most extra of ways.
If you're coupled up this Valentine's Day, you're amongst the greats who've found love or are in love in 2018. If you're still single, don't worry-- that just means you have more time to work on yourself before meeting your better half.
Almost 10 years ago, Jay-Z and Beyonce officially combined to form the Exodia of Pop Culture. They are THE power couple of the entertainment industry globally. Need proof? Combined these two have 41 Grammys, a net worth of almost a billion dollars (Yes, B for billion), three adorable children, and the right to slay our lives whenever they want to. It's hard to imagine a time when these two weren't giving us serious #RelationshipGoals.
Last year this "Happy" couple welcomed triplets to their family, and we couldn't help but go "aww." Pharrell and Helen have been together since the early aughts, and dated for years before tying the knot in 2013. Their secret to staying together for so long, and looking so young? According to Pharrell, "every night is like a sleepover," when you marry your BFF. That would explain the triplets (and the glow!)
Arguably the couple of the year, Cardi B and Offset got unexpectedly engaged late last year during one of her sets. Though the couple has only been together a short while, they dealt with their fair share of controversy in that time-- amid rumours of infidelity, the "Bodak Yellow" singer defended her relationship with a comment on Instagram saying, "well if people are talking about it and keep asking me how i feel about the situation why not let them know? Right or wrong? No it's not right for a n---a to cheat... But what you want me to do? Go f--k me another n---a? start all over again and get cheated on again? This s--t happens to everyone and i be too You too... People handle they relationship different soo." Since that drama, the two seem to be right on track, attending NYFW all boo'd up and goal-worthy.
This couple's love for music and each other has stood the test of time. The somewhat unlikely pair, Alicia being a relatively private celebrity who likes to keep a low profile; while Swizz is known for his flashy style and bad boy reputation have been married since 2010 and share two sons, Genesis and Egypt, in addition to Beatz's children from his previous marriage. Together they are an undeniable force in the industry, and a perfect blended family.
If true love is patient and kind, then this couple is the physical embodiment of human devotion. Before this couple's extravagant, all-white wedding was aired on BET, the couple was separated from 2014-2016 when Gucci was sent to prison on weapon charges. The couple stood by each other's side and now have the rest of their lives to make up for lost time-- not to mention that Keyshia is now living with an improved, healthier and happier GuWop, too.
Big Sean and Jhene Aiko officially announced their relationship after dropping their steamy collab album, Twenty88, but they've been friends forever. Beyond being an aesthetically gorgeous couple, these two have proved they are #CoupleGoals both on and off stage. Between their PDA-filled Instagram feeds, jetsetting around the world together, and some seriously sexy performances it seems that everything's going smoothly. Jhene even made their love permanent by tattooing a Big Sean's face on her arm.
The Bridges always seem to be living their best life. Ludacris who is known to shower his wife, Eudoxie, with "just because" flowers and birthday trips with her girlfriends sets the bar (extremely) high for all our our partners. We can only dream of coupling up with someone who treats us this right, but for now we can live vicariously through them via their Instagram feeds.
There's not too much information on college sweethearts, J. Cole and Mellisa Heholt (even photos are sparse -- as you can tell), but we do know they've been with each other for over a decade. The two finally wed in 2016 and have maintained a super low profile all the while. We have no doubts that these two will "Work Out," especially with their privacy under lock and key. There is definitely something to take away there for any relationship.
Diddy and Cassie
Valentine's Day Hip-Hop Couple Goals
Do you remember when Diddy shared a photo a massive (and disgustingly expensive) engagement ring on Instagram in 2012? After keeping their relationship lowkey for years, the couple finally got engaged over the popular social media app, after Diddy gained Cassie's approval of the ring (Her response? "It's perfect!"). Since then, they have shared many romantic moments on the app, and we are so glad they're finally out as a couple because they are major goals.
Say what you want about this salacious duo, KimYe is winning on the relationship front. From their super cute family, to their matching outfits on the red carpet, there is no denying that these two are obsessed with each other in a way that we should all want to be about our own partner-in-love.
Ty Dolla Sign and Fifth Harmony's, Lauren Jauregui's relationship became official after Ty posted a loved up Instagram story of the two with the caption "bless and thankful to have u in my life my love." Two weeks later he announced their relationship to the public in an interview with the Breakfast Club. Can't say we saw this one coming, but Ty and Lauren, who is 12 years his junior, seem to be madly in love and we can appreciate that.
After managing to stay out of the spotlight for almost 9 months, Kylie and Travis welcomed their daughter, Stormi, on February 1st. This is the first child for both parents. Fans went crazy when Kylie released a video, and a statement via Instagram stating she chose not to share this journey with the world, in order to keep the pregnancy "positive, stress-free, and healthy." A photo of Kylie and Stormi was posted a few days after the announcement and is now the most liked photo on Instagram, with over 15 million likes. You can't not be happy for the couple and their new baby girl, and we wish the absolute best for their little family, whether they remain a lowkey couple or begin to bask in the spotlight.
