Killer Mike has no patience for Mike Pence, especially after the Vice President walked out of a recent Indianapolis Colts after certain players knelt during the National Anthem. Yesterday, Pence tweeted that he stood with President Trump, writing that he "will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our flag, or our National Anthem...I don't think it's too much to ask the NFL to respect the flag and our National Anthem." Ultimately, Pence's decision went over well with Trump and his base of supporters, but Killer Mike was not amused by Pence's gesture. The Run The Jewels rapper lived up to his moniker in a scathing Instagram post aimed at Pence.
Mike immediately brings up the constitution, reminding Pence that "The document that contains the principles this republic is founded on. The 1st being #FreeSpeech. Free speech is what protects this and any protest." Mike goes on to drop knowledge on the origin of the protests, which bring attention to the belief "that officers of the law are playing Judge, Jury and executioner therefore denying Americans Citizens their constitutional rights becuz they are a racial minority." Killer Mike then goes on to wonder whether Pence "knows he and the soldiers I respect and value swear to uphold that constitution and not simply be propaganda agents for the state."
Killer Mike concludes by stating Pence is too religious to be in office, and hopes that by next election cycle, they can send his "religious nut ass" back home. In fact, Mike actually seems happy Pence left the Colts game, stating "I'm glad he left that event because he cheapened it with his presence."
Overall, the NFL continues to find itself in the middle of a political shit storm, and it doesn't seem likely to get better anytime soon. Check out Mike's full statement in the Instagram post below.
