If you haven’t noticed by now, Lloyd Banks has been rolling out a new song every week in support of his 10-part freestyle series called “At Your Request,” which finds the G-Unit rapper tacking other popular instrumentals. Having already jumped on Fab & Jadakiss’ “Soul Food,” and Ghostface’s “Mighty Healthy” recently, the Maryland native decides to come through today and share yet another freestyle over NYC spitter AZ’s 1995 classic “Sugar Hill.”
Over the soulful vocals from Miss Jones & 90’s boom-bap production from L.E.S., Lloyd delivers another 2-minute lyrically-conscious exercise that finds him sharpening his skills & showcasing his double time rhyme scheme in the process. It serves as the 6th out of 10 releases from Lloyd, so stay tuned for more.
Until then, take a listen to Banks’ latest freestyle and sound off in the comments (below).
Quotable Lyrics:
Aint got no time for b-rolling I'm thinking classics
My back is against the world army plated with ratchets
Perhaps theres something wrong with my mind
Im thinking backwards
But it seems the devil latches on you harder when you got the package
