Last year, Kur and PnB Rock linked up for the frantic banger "Not Today," and now, the Philadelphia duo have once again linked up. This time, the collaboration is a darker affair, and the resulting "No Shine" finds both artists reflecting on the doomed nature of a hood come-up. "It never shines in the ghetto," sings PnB, over some eerie, reverse-delayed strings. "It always rains in the hood, n***a if you came from the hood then you probably gon' stay in the hood." If the title didn't give it away, you're in for a bit of a pessimistic ride.
Still, it's some real shit, and Kur paints a vivid picture with his emotional lyrics, rapping "outsiders get stopped like who are you with, I jumped in the mix, I climbed out the ditch, the dirt the piss, the hurtful shit, a perc addict, I caught static." Stream the track now, and sound off below.
Quotable Lyrics
Broke times, 'bout to rob something quick
I can't shine if I'm not on my shit
I'm on the nine if I'm not at the crib
Where n***s get high, niggas smoke cig
Where n***a get by and don't wanna give
Where bitches get popped and leave in a Lyft
