If you're the type who isn't keen on lyrics that celebrate and glorify pill-popping, Maxo Kream's "Pop Another" is probably not the song for you. It is, however, one of Punken's most immediate bangers, thanks to a gorgeous, pitch-corrected instrumental. If it weren't for the debaucherous subject matter, "Pop Another" could almost double as a lullaby. It's a perfect backdrop for Maxo's razor-sharp flow, and the Texan emcee wastes little time in establishing his presence on the Tame Impala-sampling beat.
As usual, his lyrics are packed with gallows humor, as he raps "hit it with the shake, put the season on the salad / young Anne Frank I'm hide it in the attic," or "drink Titanic, drown the whole cruiser." If you haven't yet checked out his brand new Punken project, you're missing out. Maxo has proven himself to be one of the more slept on up-and-comers, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him widen his audience in 2018.
