The annual BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony is set to take place in Miami, on October 10th, 2017, and some of the high profile nominations have been announced. While 2017 has been a somewhat wild year in hip-hop, it has also yielded plenty of dope projects from some of the game's biggest names, including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, & Jay-Z. Newcomers like Playboi Carti and Cardi B also had their moment in the spotlight, with the latter's proving pretty damn impactful. Cardi also happened to score nominations for single of the year, hustler of the year, best video of the year, and MVP of the year. Alongside those, she also joined the ranks of Tee Grizzley, Playboi Carti, Amine, and Kodak Black for as the potential "best new artist."

Jay-Z & Chance The Rapper came through with five, setting them up in a battle for lyricist of the year. Jay also managed to land a nomination for album of the year with 4:44, putting him head-to-head against both Migos and Future, who have scored four nominations apiece.

As BET has moved the ceremony from Atlanta to Miami, they have also issued a statement dedicated to everyone who has suffered in the wake of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey:

"Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with those who are facing the impact of this catastrophic storm. As a network, we are committed to offering our full support during this most devastating time. Through Hip Hop Awards 2017, our ‘Hip Hop for Hurricane Relief’ will bring together some of the biggest names in hip hop to acknowledge those in need as the country begins the difficult process of rebuilding.”

Stay tuned for the full list of nominations, which is said to be found on the official BET website here. As of now, the site does not seem to be displaying them, but that will surely change.
