Top Dawg Entertainment and many of its signees dominated the music charts giving 2018 some big boots to fill.
Founded in 2004 by Anthony "Top Dawg," one of the leading record labels has a roster of fire artists such as Kendrick Lamar, SZA and ScHoolboy Q to name a few. The official Twitter account for the label shared some noteworthy numbers on the success of two of its leading artists, Kendrick and SZA, who each released memorable albums in 2017 - Ctrl. and DAMN..
Kendrick's 14-track project was the "best selling album" of 2017 according to data charts shared by TDE. DAMN. was also chosen as Album of the Year by a jaw-dropping 48 publications, while 28 publications voted it as #2. SZA's Ctrl made the top 30 charts for success in sales and was voted Album of the Year seven times by different publications and given #2 by 13 other publications.
HNHH rated Damn. as the 6th best album of the year and Ctrl as the 4th.
Not sure about you guys, but we're still waiting on SZA's music video for "Doves In The Wind" featuring Kendrick that the duo were spotted filming a while ago. Only time will tell!
