Chicago artist Towkio has officially announced his upcoming album WWW., which is set to drop on February 16th, 2018. As the first rapper signed by Rick Rubin (who recently contributed production to Eminem's Revival) in over two decades, you can bet that Towkio's latest will feature an eclectic array of sonic influences. In a press release promoting the album, Towkio reveals that the project will be heavily inspired by his dual Mexican and Japanese roots, as well as Chicago house music.
In conjunction with the album announcement, Twokio dropped off the project's new single "Symphony," which features vocals from Teddy Jackson. The track finds Towkio spitting erratic bars over an off-kilter, jazz-fusion-inspired beat, invoking memories of some vintage K-OS or Gnarls Barkely.
Quotable Lyrics
You was raised a church girl, now you always find yourself out on Sunday
And do on Monday the same thing you did on Tuesday, and Wednesday feel the same
Now you feel uncool, like your auntie's husband and you don't wanna feel so lame
