Joell and Raekwon are known for their effortless ability to paint pictures with words, and now, the two auteurs have linked up to deliver an tragic, noir-inspired street narrative. Backed by the dulcet tones of Smokey Robinson, Joell Ortiz begins the story on a positive note, detailing the story of puppy-love turned full blown companionship. Sadly, it doesn't take long before tragedy strikes, leaving Joell's picturesque romance in irreparable tatters. Thankfully, he's got a loyal right hand man, determined to make things right.
Enter Raekwon, who holds it down as Joell's ruthless best friend. The Chef is of the belief that an eye should be exchanged for an eye, and is hell bent on enacting his own brand of justice. I won't spoil the narrative, but it's always enjoyable watching two ill storytellers craft vivid street narratives. Plus, a new verse from Raekwon is always welcome. Quotable Lyrics
Yo that's family Chef, throw me a pound
I spit in the hand, stop that, cut that bullshit out clown
Yo you get out the chair, young Pi'erre swallowed the blunt lit
Burnt his lips, sat up with fear
