After breaking out onto the music scene a couple years ago under the mysterious alias Goodbye Tomorrow, Chicago rapper preme__xy is ready to introduce himself to the world. “Releasing music as preme__xy is a subtle first step to making this reality more palpable for consumption, GT will focus more on content creation (art, visuals, a zine, clothing and other design objects, and a few projects I will elaborate on later),” he tweeted last week.
For his first release under preme__xy, the Chicago emcee decides to share the new song called “Be Here Now,” which is described as a “brooding, phscyedlic, meditation of the difference pressures we’re faced with everyday. The song was inspired by 70’s icon Ram Dass’ 1971 book of the same title, “the counterculture bible” that inspired Steve Jobs to travel to India seeking spiritual guidance.”
Produced by R&B singer Stan Sono, take a listen to the new offering and share your thoughts on it (below).
Sidenote: this will be last time we post under Goodbye Tomorrow.
Quotable Lyrics:
Move the money out the bank, yeah
Ou, put like 50 in the tank
Vroom, put a hundred on the drank
You can hear my chain clank against my other chain, like ou
Swipe up back I hit a stain like, yea
Switching bitches, switching lanes like
Vroom, even God gets stressed out my nigga
