Good Charlotte performed a cover of Peep's "Awful Things" as part of the service.

Lil Peep was remembered by family, friends, colleagues and fans at a memorial that took place in Long Beach, New York Saturday. The service was made available for fans to stream live, and has since been posted in is entirety on YouTube, where it has been viewed over 100,000 times over the last day. The rapper passed away from a suspected overdose on November 15th. He was 21.

Those who spoke at the service included Peep's grandmother Jenny Kastner, who read letters from fans, and asked visitors to write messages to Peep on a memorial banner. Quoting a fan's words, she read: "He wasn’t the modern-day Kurt Cobain, by the way. He is the first and only Lil Peep."

Liza Womack, mother of Lil Peep (real name Gus Ahr), also spoke of her son's accomplishments, both in regards to his success and his inspiring life philosophy. "He lived his own life on his own terms," she said. "He was a stubborn, driven, talented, crafty, observant, and tender young man. Gus was also vulnerable.”

To close the readings, lyrics from an unreleased Peep song with iLoveMakonnen were read: "Don't tell me I'm not doing fine / Cause I'm doing fine."

A special performance from Good Charlotte, who covered Peep's "Awful Things," was shown towards the end of the stream.

Last week, it was reported that Peep's death is now the subject of a criminal investigation by Tucson Police.
