President Obama is an official who likes to have big name musical performances at his events, as evidenced by having Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and some huge names in classical rock perform for his last minute push in Ohio during the election. It was previously reported that Beyonce would be performing the National Anthem at the President’s inauguration, but he is amping it up even more for the festivities afterwards and has a star-studded roster performing at his inauguration ball.
A concert will be held over Martin Luther King weekend and will include Usher, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Katy Perry, March Anthony and country star Brad Paisley.
The event is expected to draw more than 35,000 people and include a ball on January 21st and a children’s concert on January 19th. On top of the names already mentioned, Far East Movement, Mindless Behavior, and Nick Cannon are expected to perform. Event officials have not yet confirmed at which venue each artist will be performing, but President Obama sure is starting off his second term in style.
