On the heels of releasing the video for his “New Freezer” collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, Rich The Kid has also previewed some new music that he has on the way featuring Pusha T. It was in a Snapchat clip that Rich gave fans a taste of what was to come as he smoked a blunt with the track in question rolling in the background with King Push’s vocals in full effect, and a caption reading, “Rich X Pusha.”
Produced by Nick E Beats and The Loud Pack, the new cut arrives as only the latest in a handful of high-anticipated collaborations from the Atlanta-bred emcee and other top-rated names. He previously revealed during a sit-down with Zane Lowe that his untitled debut album would be set to feature spots from the likes of Playboi Carti, Tory Lanez, and even Lil Wayne. In the same conversation, he expounded in further detail on the delay of the project, alluding to the long wait that fans similarly endured when it came to the arrival of his contemporary Playboi Carti.
"It took [Carti] a long time for him to put his project out,” he noted. “Everybody was waiting, a lot of shit was leaking. It was very anticipated. It was a really big moment. …Young artists, I really love to see us winning. It's not too often we get to that level."
As for Pusha T, we’re also holding out on the veteran emcee’s forthcoming project. The G.O.O.D. Music president previously revealed that it was actually Kanye West who played a role in the hold up. ‘Ye, who is serving as executive producer of the highly-anticipated “King Push,” is in an apparent quest for perfection that Push says has caused him to redo the album at least 3 times.
"I'm gonna go ahead and let y'all know," he said during his set at this year’s Made In America Festival back in September. "I've done this album like three times, right. [Kanye] come in, he picks all the beats and shit. Then he hears the beats and he scraps them and says 'I can do better.' He's done that shit like three times."
