Key! has teamed with producer Kenny Beats on "Ice Cream Hello," a track that comes in advance of his upcoming project 777, or as he puts it, "an excerpt from the book 777." Whether or not he gets the proper credit for it, Key! is an influential figure when it comes to the current wave of "SoundCloud Rap," just listen back to his material from a few years back. On his new track, he's continuing to push things forward and experiment.
The 2-minute track is full of the humor, animated ad-libs, and inventive flows as his past material, and it packs a lot into its runtime, never standing still and forgoing regular structure as Key! builds into a hook rather than splitting between verses and choruses. Last year, he appeared on Two-9's official debut FRVR, which remains one of the most underrated releases of 2017. Look out for his new project soon.
Quotable Lyrics:
Then he put you on
Like a motherfuckin' throwback
N***a talk shit
Then n***a gettin' toe-tagged
Left the tag on the Birkin
So she can see it
Now my bitch walkin' round
So conceited
