Cardi B won't necessarily be wearing her engagement ring from Offset when you see her, but that's nothing more than a precautionary measure. The "Bodak Yellow" star made that very clear in response to an Instagram comment that pointed out the absence of the flashy ring in a recent photo.
"So where is the ring? It's all fake," wrote the user, to which Cardi responded, "are you going to wear a half a million dollar ring everywhere?" She also referred back to Kim Kardashian's robbery last year, suggesting that she doesn't want to suffer the same fate. "I ain't getting Kim K bitch," she wrote. "I ain't using it in a city that I don't have a weapon.
The Pristine Jewelers-designed ring, shaped like a raindrop, is a takeoff (no pun intended) of a line from Offset's "Bad And Boujee" hook. "Of course he got me a raindrop shape ring," Cardi wrote on Instagram last Saturday. A report earlier this week revealed that the ring was worth $550,000. Take a closer look at the piece below.
Though the proposal took place only last weekend, both BET and VH1 have already expressed interest in the TV rights to the couple's wedding. BET aired Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka'oir's wedding last month. Cardi and Offset have not publicly revealed any plans to film the event.
It's been a big week for Cardi, who also graced the cover of Rolling Stone. She spoke of what to expect from her debut album in the profile. "I got six, seven solid songs that I like, but I wonder if a month from now, I'm going to change my mind," she said, as well as commenting on current rap trends. "It's so sad to say, and I don't want to be the one to say it, but you gotta follow the trend. This generation loves to get high. They love to be on drugs. This is why they on that shit: They don't want to think about what you're saying."
