Boogie seems to be on the verge of entering 2018 with a vengeance. Yesterday, Shady Record's newest signee dropped off "Violence," an introspective collaboration with Masego. Now, the Compton emcee is back with another banger, showing off some much appreciated lyrical depth. "Came Up" finds Boogie reflecting on his early days, when he used to keep his clothing in a trash bag on the corner. Now, he can say he's on the same label roster as Eminem, making him Shady Records' first ever west coast artist.
Over a hard instrumental, Boogie holds it down with a versatile flow. "We ain't got no features so I hit her with that mask on, you ain't even hit yet cause you ain't got no backbone," raps Boogie. "Homie got a celly, he can't even hit back home, ain't even got apps on, that's because that's his trap phone."
Quotable Lyrics
We ain't got no features so I hit her with that mask on
You ain't even hit yet cause you ain't got no backbone
Homie got a celly, he can't even hit back home
Ain't even got apps on, that's because that's his trap phone
