With his Outkast counterpart releasing his next solo album soon, a lot of focus has been on Andre 3000 lately. While he has not released a solo effort in quite some time, he has been busy jumping on tracks with some huge names, and he discusses why he likes collaborating with this generation of hip hop artists. He also touches on the possibility of filming visuals for his feature on Rick Ross's "Sixteen" and says it’s not going to happen.
In a recent sit down with Global Grind, Three Stacks said he is a fan of current hip hop and that’s why he likes to collaborate with them, and although he might be from a different era he still appreciates today’s music, “when you talk about Frank Ocean and Rick Ross, in this generation I’m just a music lover.” Usually it’s the artists reaching out to have Dre on their track, and he is happy to oblige, “These artists, they reach out to me, and me being a supporter of any generation of music, you never hate on the youth, cause at the end of the day they just sayin something.”
Rick Ross had said that he plans on recording visuals for every cut off his album God Forgives, I Don’t, and fans were anticipating a video for one of the most notable collaborations on the album between him and Andre on "Sixteen". However, it looks like a video will not happen, as the Outkast artist says the timing was just not right, “No, it actually didn’t happen because of timing, and I really hated that we couldn’t get that going.”
