There are quite a few subgenre trends picking up as of late in hip-hop. Internet rap from evilgiane and the Surf Gang label may be the most recent one. You also have to take into account how big the drill scene from the UK and East Coast has been over the past couple of years. Another you have to mention is rage rap. Artists like Playboi Carti, Ken Carson, and Destroy Lonely are dominating that wave at the moment. Dom Corleo can be thrown into the mix as well.
However, the caveat to that is he is a mere carbon copy of those names. The Fremont, California kid has been in the game since 2020, so he is still finding his footing. Hence the reason why his two newest songs are not that unique. Dom's "DEVOTE" and "BITE" sound like something the trio would put together as a leftover track.

There are even some hints of Travis Scott thrown into the mix, especially on "BITE." The auto-tuned wailing toward the backend is reminiscent of 2014-2016 Scott. But, that is not to say that Dom Corleo cannot improve. He is still getting started and there is nothing wrong with that. You can check out the two songs with the links above.
What are your thoughts on these brand-new singles, "DEVOTE" and "BITE," by Dom Corleo? Are these some of his better tracks as of late, why or why not? Is an album bound to drop this year at some point now? Do you think is separating himself from the other rage rappers? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Quotable Lyrics From "BITE":
Huh, I think I'm 'boutta go chase what I chase when it's down (Think I'm 'boutta go-)
So tell me what the f*** they gon' say when it go down (I'm the G.O.A.T)
And tell me what the f*** you gon' do if it go down (Hey)
'Cause you don't even got a clue what I'm talkin' about now (You even don't got a clue, say it)
You don't know what we do, he don't know what it do, don't play like it's cool (You don't got a clue, say it)
Let's take it to school, and let me teach all of y'all how to be cool (Teach ya, teach ya)
