Rivers calls out "fairweather ass fan."

Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers cursed out a courtside fan during the final minutes of last night's 126-107 loss to the Utah Jazz at Staples Center, because the dude was being "a fairweather ass fan."

Rivers can be seen telling the fan to "shut the fuck up" and appears to also say, "I’ll smack the shit out of you."

Check out the incident below.

After the game, Rivers explained that the dude wasn't talking trash about him, but he was going at Rivers' teammates and his dad, Doc, as well as Clippers owner Steve Ballmer. The 25-year old guard also added that he apologized for his actions after the game and shook hands with the heckler.

"He was being a fairweather ass fan," Rivers said, according to ClutchPoints. "He was talking shit about the team, but he was cheering the first half. And then the second half he was talking about Steve Ballmer and Doc [Rivers] and DJ and saying demeaning stuff to my other teammates. 'Austin and DJ, y’all need help.' I don’t like that. I like fans who ride or die with you, and there’s a lot of good ones here that show up to the game. He was talking shit about the team, not even me."

"I went up after the game and apologized to the guy because at the end of the day, I’m the professional, he’s not," Rivers said. "We shook hands and said, 'My bad.'"

Rivers scored a team-high 25 points last night and dished out six assists but he was a -14 overall, as the Clippers, who will be playing without Blake Griffin for the next two months, dropped to 8-12 on the season.

During Rivers' post-game interview, he also praised Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell who he described as "the best rookie in the NBA." Read his full comments on Mitchell below.
