Stephon Marbury: "Working On NBA Come Back"

Stephon Marbury, who has played in the Chinese Basketball Association since 2010, is prepping for his NBA comeback at the age of 40. The only active NBA player who is older than Marbury is Vince Carter, who signed on with the Sacramento Kings this offseason. 

Marbury took to twitter this morning to announce, "It's time to combine. My next move is the best move. Working on the come back to the #nba."

Marbury spent most of his time in the CBA playing for the Beijing Ducks, but recently signed on with the Beikong Flying Dragons in July after announcing that the 2017-18 CBA season would be his last. Last season with the Ducks he averaged 21.4 points, 5.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 36 games.

The Coney Island, NY product was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the fourth overall pick in the 1996 NBA draft, but was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves for the draft rights to Ray Allen.

He spent his first two and a half seasons with the Wolves before being traded to the New Jersey Nets as part of a three-way trade which includes Terrell Brandon and Sam Cassell. He later played for the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks before his final stint in the NBA during the 2008-09 season with the Boston Celtics, where he averaged just 3.8 points in 18 minutes over the course of 23 games. 

During his time in China, Marbury won three CBA championships, a CBA Finals MVP award, a CBA Foreign MVP award and was named to six All-Star teams.
