DJ Whoo Kid is undoubtedly one of the most legendary DJ's in the rap game. Aside from being with G-Unit, he's been a dominant force in the hip hop game as a DJ. In our series "The Plug," we linked up with the legendary DJ for insight on his career beginnings, first interactions with 50 Cent and much more.
DJ Whoo Kid has been in the game for over 20 years at this point, so it's safe to say he has some interesting stories about his time in the music industry and before. During our conversation, he recalls a time when he used to see 50 Cent beating up drug lords in their neighborhood who owed him money. Little did he know that a decade later he'd be travelling across the globe with him selling out arenas.
During our talk with him, he also touched on some of his most interesting interviews he's done (Willie Nelson is apparently really weird), his thoughts on the current state of hip hop, doing a podcast, working with UK artists on their earliest mixtapes as well as dropping some gems for up-and-coming artists.
