This week, the first Hot 100 of 2024 that isn't bogged down by Christmas music was released. The chart featured tone of songs making massive jumps back into the top 20 after a month away. Mega-hits from stars like Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, SZA, Doja Cat, and Zach Bryan went skyrocketing up the charts to fill in places previously filled by Christmas music. One of the songs that did the best job holding on amid the Christmas blitz was Jack Harlow's "Lovin On Me." Unsurprisingly, the track had the biggest return of all this week. After first shooting up to the top of the charts in late November and early December, "Lovin On Me" is now back atop the Hot 100.
While challengers are expected to come soon with new singles from Ariana Grande and Lil Nas X, Harlow has already tied Drake for a pretty impressive chart record. Previously, Drake was the first rapper to ever score a number one hit in four consecutive years. His span went from 2020 to 2023 of which most years included multiple number ones. "Toosie Slide," "What's Next," "Jimmy Cooks" and "Slime You Out" represent the biggest run of hits for the rap star. Now Harlow matches that achievement. He did so with his Lil Nas X collab "Industry Baby" hitting number one in 2021 followed by his song "First Class" in 2022. With "Lovin On Me" reaching the top spot in both 2023 and 2024 he's officially tied Drake's record.
Jack Harlow Is Back At Number One
Earlier this month, Jack Harlow treated his fans to an entirely new way to experience his live shows. That came through a collaboration with META to deliver a virtual reality experience to his fans at home. Those with the right gear can tap into a show on his No Place Like Home tour from last year.
Last year, Jack Harlow teamed up with Dave to contribute a guest verse to the newest Lyrical Lemonade song. The track is called "All Is Well" and it's the 4th new single the music project has released in its new era. What do you think of Jack Harlow's impressive new chart milestone matching Drake's?
