LeBron James and his son Bronny will share a 1-of-1 autographed trading card in an upcoming set from Bowman. The card features images of LeBron in his high school uniform at St Vincent/St Mary's and Bronny in his USC uniform. LeBron's part in the 23/24 Bowman University Chrome Basketball Set comes as part of a multiyear deal with Fanatics. The collection will also include cards for Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers. In 2022, LeBron's "Triple Logoman" card from Panini sold for $2.4 million at auction. Furthermore, LeBron revealed in 2020 that he diversified his portfolio by acquiring two of his own rookie cards for the future.
"As someone who appreciates all the moments -- big and small -- along the journey, I'm excited to share more with my fans through this partnership with Fanatics. In sports, there is so much greatness to celebrate and I've always been one to take a moment to recognize that in athletes at the top of their games. It's all about celebrating the journey and enjoying those moments, with many more to come," LeBron said in a statement about the deal. LeBron enjoys a close friendship with Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin.
LeBron Says Bronny Could Play For The Lakers
Meanwhile, the Lakers floundering, LeBron made comments suggesting that Bronny, a freshman at USC, would actually be an improvement to the struggling LA roster. “He could play for us right now. Easy. EASY," LeBron said, according to The Guardian. Back-to-back wins against the Clippers and Raptors have raised the Lakers to .500 on the season. They currently sit 10th in the Western Conference, holding the lowest seed in the Play-In Tournament. The team's post-In-Season Tournament slump has seen pressure mount for head coach Darvin Ham.
Bronny played a season-high 20 minutes against Stanford in USC's latest game. However, the freshman's impact was minimal. He had 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals in the 93-79 win. The win moved the Trojans to 8-7 and marked their first back-to-back wins since November 23. USC next face Washington State on January 10. Meanwhile, the Lakers are next in action against Phoenix on January 11.
