Even if you aren't into political rap, "Spar" is well worth your time. The Dreezy, 6lack & Kodak Black collaboration turned heads when it dropped back in October, and all three artists went in over the ominous, reflective beat. Dreezy in particular stood out, delivering a dope flow and some scathing, focused lyricism. Ultimately, the track managed to serve as an anti-Trump anthem without diving into the potentially-corny trappings of overtly political hip-hop. Plus, it doesn't hurt that the beat is an absolute banger.
Now, "Spar" has received a well deserved video treatment courtesy of animator Tristan Zammit. The artist, who has previously collaborated with Lil Yachty and A$AP Ferg, includes some striking and evocative imagery, ranging from White Supremacist rallies, the death of Sandra Bland, Colin Kaepernick's notorious kneeling, Hurricane Harvey, and more. Be sure to check out the clip, even if you're cautious to dive into political hip-hop.
