It was one of the best TV nights of the year for men across the United States and around the world. Not only did the NFL season kick off with plenty of action and some emotional first outings for certain teams, but last night (September 10th) was also the night when another woman was to be crowned Miss America. Out of a pool of 51 pageant contestants, there can only be one winner and this year's victor had herself a record-setting evening.
You new Miss America is Cara Mund, a 23-year-old from North Dakota, becoming her state's first-ever representative to be crowned the first place finisher in this competition. Her runner-up was Miss Missouri, Jennifer Davis. An unlikely winner who may not have been predicted to go as far as she did in the competition, Mund impressed with each section of the evening's events, most notably her on-stage question. Tackling world issues and current events topics, Mund's subject matter was Donald Trump withdrawing the United States from the climate accord earlier this year. When asked if she thought it was a good idea, Mund didn't mince her words.
