The biggest brawl of the 2017 baseball season just went down in the Bay Area today. During Monday afternoons game between the Washington Nationals & San Francisco Giants, Giants pitcher Hunter Strickland drilled Nationals superstar Bryce Harper with an eighth-inning pitch that sparked a massive brawl.
Harper immediately headed toward the mound to throw his helmet & hands at Strickland, leading both benches to immediately empty with players shoving and tackling each other. In fact, the pitcher Strickland had to be assisted off the field by 4 Giants players after being ejected along with Harper.
The bad blood between these two teams stems back to 2014 during the NLDS, when Harper took Strickland yard in Game 1 of the series and apparently was showboating too much for Strickland's liking. However, it took him 3 years later to finally get his payback.
Check out the footage of the brawl (below), and look for the two teams to face off again Tuesday.
