Many people associate Jamaica with being a desirable vacation destination, and a place where people love partaking in Mary Jane. After his recent trip to Jamaica, Snoop Dogg was affected in more ways than adopting his reggae personae. He has partnered up in an effort to gain awareness for the Mind Gardens Project which helps feed hungry children in impoverished areas of Jamaica.
Snoop has began a partnership with Reed’s Ginger Brew, and Causes.com, to assist in promoting the project which focuses on creating organic community gardens that can give fresh fruits and vegetables to children in places where food can be scarce.
In his written statement (via HHDX), Snoop outlines why he has chosen to take part in this charity: “When I went to Jamaica we took time to visit these communities in Kingston, and I was deeply affected by the poverty and lack of good food available to the children. No child should go hungry. After all the inspiration Jamaica had provided me, I felt compelled to create a program to give back to the community.”
