Cam'Ron has been killing it recently, coming off the release of his excellent The Program project, which managed to recapture that gully New York sound he group helped popularize in the early millennium. Now, fans have even more reason to rejoice, as the mighty Diplomats look to be making a triumphant return to the game. The Harlem squad has come through with a new single called "Once Upon A Time," and to cap off the nostalgia, it's produced by Diplomatic Immunity collaborators The Heatmakerz. Over some sped up vocal samples and hard hitting drums, Jim Jones and Cam'Ron trade bars like the glory days, right in time for their upcoming performance at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
It's great to see the crew making music together again, and hopefully the Dipset boys can find the time to commit to a full-length project. In the mean time, we'll gladly take what we can get, especially if it continues where "Once Upon A Time" left off. Plus, what actually happened between Dame Dash and Harvey Weinstein? We need answers, Cam!
Quotable Lyrics
No disrespecting the ladies, word from my team
That's the reason Dame smacked Harvey Weinstein
On the set of Paid In Full, y'all gave him hell about it
Some foul shit happened once, Capo, tell 'em about it
