The latest incident of a lawsuit stemming from a serious concert injury hit hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd last week, after a man in Michigan filed documentation against the rappers that alleges his face was horribly disfigured after he was struck by an errant water bottle that was forcefully thrown off the stage by one of the performers. As per our previous report, the show during which the injury took place went down in October of 2016, where neither emcee supposedly gave any warning of turning their water bottles into projectiles that were to be launched into the crowd. The man's legal representatives are claiming that part of his face was "ripped off" from the sheer force of the object that was thrown, leading to the suit for assault, negligence and battery, as well as sticking Rae Sremmurd for the cash for his medical bills. Now, Swae Lee has answered the bell where these legal problems are concerned and, according to TMZ, he's not going down without a fight.
Lee told the outlet's cameraman that he's planning on countersuing the Michigan man, on the grounds that he's "lying." The rapper added that he does a ton of shows, but insists that neither he or Slim Jxmmi have ever thrown a water bottle off the stage and towards their fans, never mind with the intention of doing harm. Lee is calling the contents of the original lawsuit "false accusations" and sounds determined to set the record straight, with the help of due process from the legal system. There's no word from him on what the exact contents of the countersuit are going to be, but odds are we won't have to wait too long for that information.
In other Rae Sremmurd news, the duo are teaming up with ILoveMakonnen for an upcoming track that will also feature Mike Will Made-It on the production side of things. That songs should be made available within the next week, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that one. Following up on the strength of a track like "Perplexing Pegasus," Rae Sremmurd's momentum should be able to carry them pretty far yet.
