To commemorate the end of production on the limited re-issue run of Minimoog Model D Synthesizers, the folks at Moog invited legendary producer Mike Dean to come make a track from scratch at their Moog Factory in Asheville, North Carolina.
The Minimoog Model D was the first portable synthesizer made and originally stopped production in 1981. The bass-y, full sounding synth is very versatile and Mike Dean creates a heavy track with several layers of grooves.
In a time when most people can pick up a computer and learn what they'd like about production (undoubtedly with a lot of work put in) it's cool to see a legendary producer like Dean create on something most kids wouldn't think about buying now-a-days. Take a look at the video below.
