Playboi Carti hits TRL to perform his hit song.

When you look back at the summer of this year, a staple anthem that defined it was Playboi Carti's "Magnolia." It was hard to avoid the anthem and its catchy opening line, "In New York, I milly rock." While the Milly Rock itself was started by 2 Milly over three years a go, Playboi Carti helped re-popularize it to the masses. Nonetheless, the Milly Rock has been closely associated to Carti since the song dropped. Today, Playboi Carti headed over to the TRL studio to not only perform his hit song but also judge a Milly Rock competition.

For day two of TRL's re-launch on MTV's programming schedule, they got Playboi Carti as a guest. During the show, the hosts got Carti to help judge the Milly Rock competition. Hosts DC Young Fly and Tamara Dhia brought Carti out to dictate who out of their three competitors had the best Milly Rock. When first watching the clip, you'd assume that they'd just have a few people doing a simple Milly Rock. However, each person brought their unique flare to the dance and brought it to another level. All three dancers used the Milly Rock for a moment to shine their actual dancing abilities. The winner of the competition went home with $250 cash in their pocket. Throughout the competition, Carti gets more and more shocked by each dancer, ultimately dubbing the last one as the winner after he does the windmill. Along with the Milly Rock Challenge, Carti took the Times Square set to perform "Magnolia." It was the second time he performed the song on live television, with the first being on Jimmy Kimmel a few months back.

Playboi Carti been bodying the game this year. He kicked off the summer by releasing his highly anticipated debut self-titled mixtape. He's also been getting scheduled to play at some major events. The rapper performed Forbes Under 30 Summit this past Sunday and is also scheduled to perform at the BET Hip Hop Awards on October 10th. Aside from that, he's also been teasing a collaborative tape with Lil Uzi Vert. While there's no word on when that'll drop, he's been dropping hints on social media that could mean it'll be dropping in the near future.
