Following last night's Game 5 loss to the Boston Celtics, Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg was asked about Isaiah Thomas' handles, specifically if he saw the Celtics All-Star point guard carry at all during Game 5.
That question of course stems from Hoiberg's post-game analysis after Game 4, in which he said, "when you’re allowed to discontinue your dribble on every possession, he is impossible to guard."
In case you missed it, these were Hoiberg's comments about Thomas after Chicago's Game 4 loss, per Fox Sports,
“Let me say this: Isaiah Thomas is a helluva player. An unbelievable competitor. He’s a warrior — everything he’s going through right now, he had a helluva game tonight,” Hoiberg said.
“But when you’re allowed to discontinue your dribble on every possession, he is impossible to guard. He’s impossible to guard. When you’re able to put your hand underneath the ball, and take two or three steps and put it back down, it’s impossible to guard him in those situations.”
When asked about Isaiah Thomas' ball handling in Game 5, Hoiberg had a much different take.
