Chicago rapper Super Bwe has made been making some noise this year, most notably with his "Fool Wit It Freestyle," a collaboration with his city's emcee of the moment Chance The Rapper. While big co-signs can go a long way, it doesn't mean much if there isn't talent to back it up, and on "Up Right Now," Bwe reminds us once again that he's deserving of his buzz. The track features a horn arrangement that would make Chance proud, but vocally, Bwe is loose and melodic, in some ways resembling the auto-tuned croons of drill rappers like Lil Durk. He then hands things off to Xavier Omar, who opens with a very traditional R&B verse, before breaking into a more rhythmic, rap-influenced flow.
Supa Bwe has worked with a range of artists from his city including Noname, Twista, and Mick Jenkins. He released his Dead Again 3 mixtape in 2016.
Quotable Lyrics:
Trynna spend all of my time with you
Hour 1, hour 2
Down for me, down for you
And I'm up right now
Have the love, have the trust right now
Nevet, gon' break that
