During a stop on The Late Late Show, Portland Trailblazers point guard Damian Lillard stepped up on the mic in an impromptu freestyle session, placing his range of talents on full display. During a sit-down alongside actor Taron Egerton (Kingsman), host James Corden reminded Dame D.O.L.L.A of his #4BarFriday challenge, a ritual started up by the rapper and NBA All-Star in which anyone can submit a clip of themselves putting out their best four bars on any given Friday, with the challenge haven been taken on by the likes of Iman Shumpert and Lebron James.
Naturally, Corden let Dame know it was, in fact, Friday, and he didn’t hesitate to get out of his seat and let loose the 4 bars he’d been stashing that evening, grabbing a microphone conveniently tucked away in the couch he was sitting on before taking his place center stage.
“I’m antisocial on these suckers though/ Think you Beyonce, don’t you ever get too comfortable/I keep a baddie beside me that play the under role/ When I bust a check, designer even on my underclothes.”
Before headed back to the couch, he appropriately concludes with a “4 bars, bitch.”
Earlier in the night’s episode, viewers were treated to a previously-recorded comedic skit in which Corden and Lillard sat down for an interview where Damian’s game-winning three-pointer from the 2014 NBA Playoffs was the topic of discussion. However, the gentlemen prove to have a hard time at focusing on the subject as a Damian Lillard “Superfan,” depicted by Late Late Show writer Ian Karmel interrupts and keeps the chat geared toward anything but the shot in question.
According to Damian Lillard, we can expect the follow up to his The Letter O debut project next month, and he has assured fans that his forthcoming effort will be even better than its predecessor. While he’s proven himself to be coldest rapper-athlete to ever grace the hardwood and legitimately match his talent in the booth, only time can tell if Dame D.O.L.L.A. will be able to outdo himself come next month.
