Rick Ross discusses the thought process of recording and releasing his latest mixtape, and how signing to MMG can fast track a rapper's career.

Arguably, this summer belonged to MMG with a chart topping collabo album, solo LP from Rick Ross, Meek Mill’s undeniable mixtape sensation Dream Chasers 2, and some notable signings.  Never one to stop hustling, the Boss dropped a mixtape recently entitled The Black Bar Mitzvah which drew the ire of some, most notably, Shyne

Rozay says the entire mixtape was recorded while on location shooting visuals for “Diced Pineapples”, and was actually put together rather quickly.  In an interview with AHH he says, “If you listen to it, it’s freestyles I did it over two days [when] I was in Anguilla shooting ‘Diced Pineapples.’ All the songs we was listening to that I liked that I was a fan of, I pretty much just put freestyles on.”

Always thinking about promoting himself and MMG, Ross says the thought behind The Black Bar Mitzvah was to increase the visibility for Meek Mill’s solo debut Dream & Nightmares. “It was really something to promote Meek Mill’s album as well, shout out to all the DJs,” Ricky Ross added that that was the main focus, “October 30 Meek Mill album drops. That’s what it’s really all about at MMG right now.”

After signing some rising talent this summer, most notably Rockie Fresh, Ross talks about how being part of MMG can turn a rapper’s career around, almost overnight.  The MMG Boss said, “it’s like when you sign to MMG it won’t be long before you on tour, making moves.  Rockie Fresh of course he on his Electric Highway Tour, shout out to Stalley, he’s working on his debut album."

How do you feel The Black Bar Mitzvah holds up, does it sound like it was recorded in just a couple days?
