On September 22, Macklemore will finally release his long awaited sophomore album Gemini, featuring guest appearances from Lil Yachty, Offset, Kesha, Skylar Grey, and more. Available now for pre-order on iTunes, those of you who take advantage of the early purchase will receive two new songs for free instantly, “Glorius” with Skylar Grey and “Maramalade” featuring Lil Yachty.
To help build the hype ever further though, the Seattle native decided to hop on Twitter on Friday and share a snippet & behind the scenes footage of an upcoming record, and not just any record, arguably the most anticipated cut “Willy Wonka,” featuring Migos’ member Offset.
After shooting some hoops in what looks to be his backyard, Macklemore and Offset go into the studio to write their rhymes. Mack can be heard rapping “I’m in the booth/ I’m a motherfuckin’ icon, boots made of python / I met with the Pres. and I’m in Obama’s iPod.” Meanwhile, Offset provides his signature ad-libs and delivers some Chocolate Factory-inspired bars. “I got more flavor than Willy Wonka,” he raps. “I took three bitches to Benihana / Then took a jet up to Punta Cana.”
It’s unclear at the moment as for when the record will be arriving, but hopefully it does so before the September 22 release date.
Check out a preview of the upcoming record (below) and let us know what you think of it.
