These days, rappers are one of the most dominant forces in steering the culture forward, be it through music or fashion. People have been cultivating identities through fashion for a minute now, and it's no surprise that some of the most respected emcees have been either teaming up with labels or starting their own, further solidifying their positions as innovators and taste-makers. A$AP Rocky has already established himself as one of fashion's most respected young voices, and acts like Drake, Tyler, The Creator, and Diddy have long since had a foothold on the industry. Now, Toronto's Tory Lanez is the latest emcee to throw his hat in the proverbial ring, teaming up with adidas and Champs Sports for a brand new campaign.
The campaign, expertly rocked by Lanez in the attached photo below, centers around adidas Original's latest "Maroon Pack," which can be found exclusively at Champs Sports. If you've been looking for a new tracksuit, now's your chance to cop something fresh for the winter season. The partnership finds Tory sporting the new look, as well as supplying an original poem. If you're wondering what it says, some of the lines include Tory on a philosophical tip, writing "which is coming and which is going? The opposite is always right. I am in progress. My work is in progress."
The new Champs Sports /adidas partnership also comes with a brief video feature, which finds a decked out Tory exploring the streets of Los Angeles. He proceeds to explain the importance of location, stating "wherever I am, is the kind of music I'm going to get...The thing about LA, for me, is I make the most wondorous music when I'm out here...it's nothing like anything we're listening to anywhere else."
