A few hours a go, Lil Uzi Vert took to Twitter to tease some new material with Metro Boomin and A$AP Rocky. The tweet read "What If @asvpxrocky x @LILUZIVERT Dropped a Freestyle Video starring & prod .@MetroBoomin ® 2" followed by a string of emojis. However, it didn't take long for the video to get uploaded online. Rocky, Metro and Uzi are seen hanging out and going off the top of the dome over some unheard Metro production. You could watch the full 20 minute video here.
While it was teased as a "freestyle video", there's much more going on other than the two rappers going off the dome. It serves as more of a compilation of clips that get interjected in the middle of the freestyle. Both Rocky, Uzi and Metro are seen vibing out and dropping freestyles in front of a car while the whole thing is being filmed. In between verses, the camera switches over to candid clips of Rocky, Uzi and various members of the Mob. The video also has some pretty interesting cameos throughout. As mentioned, the members of A$AP Mob are seen in the video as well as cameos from Tyler the Creator and the Weeknd.
All three artists have worked with each other to some capacity. Uzi has made several appearances on both Cozy Tapes projects, most notably on "Raf" alongside Rocky, Quavo, Frank Ocean and Playboi Carti. However, we have yet to really see Metro and A$AP Rocky collaborate, other than the latter's appearance on 2 Chainz "Crib In My Closet" alongside Rick Ross which was produced by Metro. Hopefully, with this video out, we'll be hearing Metro on the upcoming Rocky album which is said to be released later this year.
This past summer has been pretty big for all three artists. Metro Boomin launched his Boominati Worldwide record label as well as releasing the Perfect Timing project with Nav earlier in the summer. Lil Uzi Vert dominated the last few weeks with his first major label album debuting at number 1 on the Billboard 200. A pretty incredible accomplishment for his first studio album. As for Rocky, him and the Mob took over the month of August with three separate releases from the camp including the latest Cozy Tapes Vol 2.
