The GOAT debate has been around for a long time.

Master P is someone who has plenty of credentials when it comes to speaking about rap. Overall, the man is an absolute legend, and he has seen a lot of artists come and go. Furthermore, he has listened to a lot of music. This has given him the ability to form opinions on plenty of creators. It has also allowed him to compare and contrast others from different generations. Needless to say, you can imagine that he would have some strong opinions as it pertains to the GOAT debate.

In a new red carpet interview from Jeremy Hecht of HipHopDX at the City of Hope Spirit of Life Gala, Master P was asked about his thoughts on who the GOAT of rap is. As you will see in the video clip below, he says that it is actually Lil Wayne. Of course, this declaration comes on the heels of Wayne's new project with 2 Chainz. The album is called Welcome 2 ColleGrove and it promises to be an amazing new body of work.

Master P Gives His GOAT Take

“Lil Wayne, I mean, he’s the GOAT,” he explained. “Where we come from – Louisiana to the world – you haven’t seen greatness like that. Lyrical, talented. Shout to Cash Money records. No Limit Records in the building.” Wayne is a pick that won't anger anyone. After all, plenty of others have him in their top fives.

The GOAT debate is one that will forever rage on, regardless of the domain in question. It is a huge part of NBA discourse, and it also exists in rap.
