Chiefs vs Patriots kicks off tonight at 8:30pm ET.

The 2017 NFL season will officially kick off tonight at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, home of the defending champion New England Patriots.

Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and the rest of the Pats will host Andy Reid, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs tonight in the NFL's season opener which will get underway at 8:30pm ET. The game will air on NBC. You can find information here on how to stream the game live online with NBC Sports, unfortunately you'll need a cable subscription to do so.

The Kansas City Chiefs, coming off a 12-4 record last season, are nine point underdogs heading into tonight's game against the Patriots, a team which Vegas Sportsbooks have pegged for more than 12 wins this season.

The last time the New England Patriots took the field they overcame a 28-3 deficit (you might have heard that once or twice before) in the third quarter of Super Bowl LI to defeat the Atlanta Falcons. The team will celebrate their Super Bowl LI victory prior to tonight's game with a banner ceremony.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will be in attendance for the Super Bowl ceremony and he can expect plenty of boos from the sold out crowd during, all of whom will be waving these clown towels in his honor.
