Pusha T talks about the origin of his beef with Lil Wayne, saying "it ain't no deal", and feels it stems from people talking trash on Twitter.

Pusha T has had well-documented beef with members of YMCMB, most specifically Lil Wayne and Drake.  In a sit down with Hot 97’s Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show, the Virginia rapper talks about the origins of his distaste for Weezy, saying it stems from getting involved with social media spurning him on.

Despite dropping the “Ghoulish” diss track, Lil Wayne has said that he doesn’t really have beef with Pusha T, and he was just creating music.  Seems Pusha T has a similar stance on the friction between the two rappers.  The G.O.O.D. Music emcee voiced how it’s not serious beef with Tunechi, via HipHopDX,  “Man, it ain’t no deal. It really ain’t. I think a lot of people just take it a bit further. I don’t have a lot of ill will towards him.  Pusha says most of the things in his raps were because, “I write, though. When it gets those times, you gotta be scathing and say some harsh things in this rap thing. But it ain’t no biggie.”

When talking about how the beef all started, Pusha was asked if it had anything to do with Wayne rocking BAPE on the cover of a VIBE magazine.  Many thought the Clipse veteran was referring to Weezy on “Mr. Me Too”, but Pusha says that was not the case, “I didn’t do that then, though. Back then, it was a thing where people were talking about him and BAPE and all that stuff. BAPE ain’t mine. BAPE wasn't mine, BAPE won’t ever be mine.”

Pusha T feels the issue got conflated online, with people on social networking sites saying Wayne was biting his style, but Pusha maintains it was not his view, “I was never saying that people were trying to be like me, but people were saying it. And this was the social media thing. They caused it and then he commented on it like it was me, and I never did.”

Following his “Exodus 23: 1Drake diss track, Pusha has even recently added some fuel to the fire saying G.O.O.D. Music “don’t give a fuck what Drake says.”  Even though Pusha seems to be backing off the beef with Wayne in this recent interview, it doesn’t look like his tensions with YMCMB are going away anytime soon.
