Yesterday, Takeoff dropped "Intruder," thus completing the trifecta of OG Parker-produced Migos solo tracks. The trio of releases started with Offset's "Monday," and continued with Quavo's "Paper Over Here," and fans seemed positively inclined toward each Migos member branching out with some solo material. Friendly debate kicked off over who was the superior Migos member, and there was no clear favorite; even the often-underrated Takeoff absolutely killed it with his solo effort.
Unfortunately, Migos has no plans on releasing a solo project. XXL reached out the OG Parker, the man responsible for providing Offset, Quavo, & Takeoff with their respective beats. The Quality Control producer confirmed that the releases were more or less an exception to the general Migos philosophy.
“I really just told them I plan on releasing a couple songs on my SoundCloud,” says Parker. “That was really just me dropping the solo tracks. That wasn’t their idea or anything....I never heard anything about solo projects. I always just hear Migos. All I hear is Migos stuff. They always just talk about Migos.”
While that bodes well for fans of the collective, it's still a little disappointing, especially considering the promising direction of their solo material. Still, when it comes to the rap game, it's best to never say never, even if we have to wait a while.
