The last time we heard from Justin Snow was with the second release of his solo career, “SMD (Smoke My Dro),” a follow-up track to last year’s Kamoshun-produced “White On White” debut cut.
Now nearly a year since his initial emergence, Snow has rolled out the latest effort in giving his growing fan base a consistent stream of releases—his “Body Count” series. Currently, the rapper’s greatest asset is an Instagram feed that serves as documentation of Snow’s double-life as a slasher, as he routinely recruits beautiful women to play the role of unsuspecting victims, with blood-splattered polaroid pictures and NSFW film serving as visual supplement to his relatively short musical catalog.
Outside of this, not much is known about the South Florida-based upstart. Before embarking on his own career, he placed his focus on producing and songwriting in the shadows. It was in heeding some sound advice from his late friend Steven Rodriguez, known to most of us as A$AP Yams, that Snow finally decided to bring this vision of his to fruition, and in what he’s shown so far, the outlook is promising.
Keeping things in theme with his enigmatic alter ego as an elusive attacker, laying claim to the lives of social media’s finest women, “S1E1: Body Count” is a menacing cut embellished with plenty of double entendres to go around. “I ain’t come here to chill / I really came for the kill,” he declares, as he ominously seduces someone else’s girl. “Netflix ain’t even active / Tell that nigga pay the bill.” In an organic marketing ploy, Snow has built a social community nearing the 10,000 mark within a year all on his own, with nods of approval coming from the likes of Ski Mask The Slump God among others, and with this new series, we’ll hopefully get to see his expanding repertory go over just as well.
Quotable Lyrics:
Imma show up to your bitch house uninvited
Imma dick your shorty down and she 'gon like it.
How she screamin', you would swear that shorty dyin'
How she screamin', you would swear that shorty dyin'
