At the top of October, news broke out that Retch was finally released from jail. The rapper celebrates his release with his first single since being freed with "First Day Home."
Retch is a free man these days. He welcomes himself back into the rap game with his latest single "First Day Home." The single addresses his recent legal issues that he faced. The song's production has a dark feel to it, led by a booming bass and eerie piano progression and a catchy, repetitive hook getting straight to the point. "It's my first day home/ it's my first day/ it's my first day/ home," he raps on the hook. It's an incredible re-introduction to Retch after his absence. "First Day Home" has RetcH celebrating the finer things in life throughout the song with the confidence like he wasn't even locked up. He's fearless throughout the song and its evident from his bars to his flow. He voice remains calm throughout while matching the grim feel of the production.
Back in February, he found himself in trouble with the law after he violated his probation deriving from possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Once he was released, he tweeted, "SPREADING LOVE AND POSITIVITY STAY BLESSED." In March of 2016, he also found himself in trouble with the law after getting arrested for armed robbery. The rapper faced a cash only bail of $150,000 dollars. Now that he's out, he's back to focusing his energy towards his family and making music. The last time we got a project form him was at the top of 2016 with Lean and Neck.
